Lloyd bounces back in Wiltshire

MARK Lloyd bounced back from a first-round defeat in the first leg of the Cuestars Championship Tour in Chandler’s Ford last month to win the second event in Swindon.

The defending title holder from Gosport defeated Bournemouth-based Bradley Cowdroy 3-0 in the final at Jesters Snooker Club.

Eight days after competing on the Q Tour in Albania, the 25-year-old collected £160 prize money for his efforts in Wiltshire.

Lloyd beat his Stoke Snooker Club-mate James Budd 3-1 in the last-four while Cowdroy was forced to battle back from 2-0 down to overcome Thomas Hilborne 3-2.

Hilborne took the high-break honours, missing a challenging pink on 95 in his quarter-final victory over Simon Ayers.

Will Forster won the Plate competition, dropping only one frame.
