Our best season ever
CONNOR Benzey turning professional was the icing on the cake as our “best season” came to an end at the weekend.
The list of national and international achievements by Cuestars members during the 2024/25 season is impressive.
Cuestars director John Hunter said: “It’s been our best season to date.”
ACHIEVEMENTS:
Connor Benzey: Earned a two-year tour card for the World Snooker Tour after graduating through the second Q School event in Leicester and he reached the Global Q Tour Playoff in Turkey.
Adam Abbas: English Under-14 Championship winner.
Oliver Sykes: European Under-21 Championship runner-up in Turkey, won the English Junior Tour, English Under-21 Championship runner-up and reached the Global Q Tour Playoff.
John Hunter: English Over-55 Championship winner and number one on the World Super Seniors.
Tessa Davidson: World Women’s Seniors Championship winner and number one on the World Women’s Seniors rankings.
Ellise Scott: Number one on the World Women’s Snooker under-21 rankings, two-time under-21 ranking event winner and world number 39 on the main rankings.
Kaylan Patel: World Snooker Federation Junior Championship runner-up in Morocco.
Aaron Canavan: World Seniors Championship runner-up.
Wayne Townsend: Defeated Igor Figueiredo, the 2024 World Seniors Champion, at the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield, during the World Seniors Championship.
Mark Lloyd: Sixth on the Q School Order of Merit once the new professionals are excluded meaning he should receive invitations to some professional tournaments next season.
William Thomson: English Under-16 Billiards Champion.
Riley Ellis: Won the English Junior Billiards Tour – South.
Billy Castle: Snooker Legends 900 Champion.
And 14 players donned the three-gold-lions waistcoat to represent England at snooker and billiards in the Home internationals in Leeds: Oliver Sykes, Evan Plummer, O’Shay Scott, Adam Abbas, Harry Wyatt, Asten Sahota, William Hurley, Ryan Spratt, William Thomson, Dylan Beer, Zain Jeraj, Ellise Scott, Riley Ellis and Neil Craycraft.
