Another big break for Archie Greier

CHANNEL Islander Archie Greier recorded his first century break last night – less than three months after returning to the game following his broken arm.

At the tender age of 11 years and ten months, Archie produced a 101 in the deciding frame of the semi-finals of the Byfleet, a handicapped knockout run by The Jersey Billiards & Snooker Association.

It came against Ash Marshall, who was receiving a 21-point start, at the Jersey Mechanics Institute in St Helier.

Archie first made the long journey over to Chandlers Ford Snooker Club on March 10, 2023. The following morning, he competed in the club’s Under-13 League. It was his first ever snooker competition. And on the Sunday he made his debut on the Cuestars Under-21 Bronze Tour in Fareham where he won the Plate. His highest break that weekend was 20.

The budding star is sponsored by The Summit Group, Jersey Sport, The CI Group (Conservatory Insulations) and Le Gallais & Luce.
