Cue-sport all-rounder Jaydon claims first Cuestars success
ENGLAND pool player Jaydon Elliott made a last-minute decision to have a “bash” at a snooker tournament in Swindon – and walked away with the winner’s trophy.
The 18-year-old made the decision to enter the fourth leg of the Cuestars Under-21 Silver Tour at Jesters Snooker Club at 8am that morning.
Elliott was undefeated in the round-robin group stage and won two knockout matches before beating new rankings leader Lennon Savage 2-1 from 1-0 down in the final.
“I don’t really play much,” admitted Elliott, who plays Blackball pool for Wiltshire and one of the England teams. “I play pool. This is my local club so I thought I’d come down for a bash and it turned out all right.
“I’ll still be doing pool but I might turn up for the next one now.”
Elliott made his debut on the Bronze Tour in April, 2018, at the 147 SC in Swindon. He has played in 30 Bronze ranking events and was runner-up in three of them. This was his second appearance on the Silver Tour
Jesse Goncalves and home player Josh Zebedee made the semi-finals for the first time. Toby Waters qualified for the knockout for the first time.
The event was sponsored by Swindon-based Don Rogers Sports.
