Joe Perry confirmed for U21 Championship day
HIS 33-year career as a professional snooker player may have ended last month but Joe Perry is keen to see a Cuestars player follow in his footsteps and earn a place on the world stage.
For a fourth successive year and a fifth in total, Joe will present the trophies at the Cuestars Under-21 Gold, Silver & Bronze Tour Championships in Swindon on May 25.
He will play exhibition frames against out top-ranked juniors on the match table at Jesters Snooker Club and, no doubt, dispense pearls of wisdom gained from his successes and failures over the near third of a century competing at the highest level.
The Gold, Silver & Bronze Championships are one-off events for Cuestars members using the same format of round-robin followed by a knockout. They are not rankings events. The only difference is the Plate will be replaced with a Six-Reds Championship. Entry fee for the Championship day is £10.
The Cuestars ambassador has done so much for our players over the years and is interested to see what progress has been made.
Joe, who announced his retirement prior to the World Championship, has said he will compete on the World Seniors Tour. Last year, he opened his own club, Joe Perry’s Snooker & Pool Palace in Chatteris, Cambs.
