OLIVER Sykes joining Connor Benzey on the professional circuit capped another successful and memorable season for Cuestars members in national and international events.

The 20-year-old earned a two-year tour card by reaching the final of the European Men’s Snooker Championship in Spain.

Cuestars director John Hunter said: “It’s exciting to now have two players on the World Snooker Tour.”

Talking of exciting, I wonder if Larissa Page ever though she’d steal the show at the Crucible in Sheffield!

2025/26 ACHIEVEMENTS:

Kaylan Patel: English Under-21 Champion and Global 900 Junior Champion.

Wayne Townsend: Made it through again to the World Seniors Championship at the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield (and went down on bended knee to girlfriend Larissa next to Table 2 to a round of applause from the crowd).

Billy Castle: Global 900 quarter-finalist, losing 5-4 to Ronnie O’Sullivan.

Tessa Davidson: UK Women’s Snooker Championship Seniors winner and ranked number one on the World Women’s Seniors rankings.

O’Shay Scott: 21 & Under UK Open Championship winner in Scotland.

John Hunter: World Super Seniors No 1 ranked player and the winner of five events.

John Rees: World Super Seniors event winner.

William Thomson: English Under-16 Billiards Champion for the fourth successive year.

Ellise Scott (paired with Rebecca Kenna): European Women’s Team Championship winners in Albania.

And nine players donned the three-gold-lions waistcoat to represent England at snooker and billiards in the Home Internationals in Leeds: Bradley Cowdroy, Kaylan Patel, William Hurley, William Thomson, Zain Jeraj, John Hunter, Riley Ellis, Christopher Woodward and Asten Sahota.
