Cuestars under-16 players shine in Home Internationals
FIVE of the eight players in the two England Under-16 teams at the Home Internationals in Leeds are Cuestars members.
That is a remarkably statistic and it says a lot about the Cuestars programme plus the hard work and dedication of our young players.
Three of them made up the majority of the England A team that won the 2025 title at the Northern Snooker Centre.
William Hurley (Rayleigh), William Thomson (Chandler’s Ford) and Adam Abbas (Brighton) – along with Nicholas Ayers from the Midlands – beat the England B side 7-2 in the final.
The lads dropped only four frames out of 36 in the round-robin group stages against Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland B and Wales B before beating Republic of Ireland A 7-1 in the last-four.
The B team included two more Cuestars players, Zain Jeraj (Tooting) and Matthew Jameson (Brighton). They won their round-robin group, drawing with Republic of Ireland A and beating Wales A and Scotland, before defeating Northern Ireland 7-5 in the semis.
