Lilly beats title-rival Davis in Salisbury

DHARMINDER Singh Lilly did what he had to do in the penultimate leg of the Cuestars Seniors Tour (40+) at Salisbury Snooker Club.

But it probably won’t be enough for the defending champion to retain his title.

Lilly beat rankings leader Paul Davis 2-0 in the final of the seventh event but now trails the Wareham cueist by 24 points.

And that means that Davis, the 2023/24 champion, is virtually certain to wrap things up in the last leg of the season at Chandlers Ford Snooker Club on Sunday, April 19.

An impressive total of 24 breaks of 40 or more were recorded. Davis took the honours with a 73 in the last-four against Carl Davies.

Mark Evans reached the semi-finals for the first time on the Seniors Tour.

Organisers thanked Salisbury SC (salisburysnookerclub.co.uk) for sponsoring and hosting the event.

PRIZE MONEY: Winner Dharminder Lilly £90, runner-up Paul Davis £85; semi-finalists Mark Evans & Carl Davies £30 each; quarter-finalists Ian Rose, Lun Lee, Martin Wallace & Richard Swaffield £10 each.
