Denieffe clinches first Cuestars winner’s trophy
CLAPHAM teenager Dylan Denieffe has won his first Cuestars snooker tournament.
The 15-year-old defeated Ben Scammell 2-0 in the final of the ninth and penultimate leg of the Under-21 Silver Tour at Chandlers Ford Snooker Club.
Denieffe said: “I had a tough opponent but managed to pull it off.
“It was good. I played well all day. I’m really happy about it.
“I’d like to thank my dad, Paul, and my Auntie Caroline, who helped with financial support.”
Denieffe is based at the Hurricane Room, Kings Cross, and coached by John Woods but he’s also had a few sessions with Lee Walker.
The Londoner – who made his first appearance in a Silver final in the last event that he entered, in Swindon in February – made his Bronze Tour debut in Coulsdon in October, 2022, and was promoted to Silver at the start of the 2024/25 season.
Amesbury-based Scammell beat home player Ben Taylor-Jenkins 2-1 in the last-four to reach his first Cuestars final.
Gus Walker made the quarter-finals on his return to the junior circuit in the event sponsored by Pitman Training.
Three Chandlers Ford SC players will vie for the title in Bournemouth next month although Denieffe has a mathematical chance.
Caden Read remains top of the rankings but his quarter-final defeat by clubmate Taylor-Jenkins means Lennon Savage, who lost 2-0 to Denieffe in the last-four, closes to within four points. Third-placed Navraj Landa has an outside chance of overhauling the top two.

Greenbaize Snooker Club, Bournemouth, hosts the tenth and final leg on Sunday, April 26.
