First trophy of the season for Rayan
RAYAN El Qmache (pictured, right) collected his first trophy of the new season in Newbury.
The 13-year-old Londoner beat Aariz Tariq (left) in the final of the Plate competition during the opening legs of the Cuestars Under-21 Gold, Silver and Bronze Tours at The Crucible Sports & Social Club.
El Qmache recorded a 30 break in his last-four victory over Dylan Denieffe in the event for those players who didn’t qualify for the main knockouts.
And 13-year-old Tariq, from Welling, made a 27 in his last-eight success against Harry Rice and beat Tyler Heard in the semis despite his opponent making runs of 32 and 21 in the single-frame match.
Salisbury Snooker Club hosts the second legs of nine on Sunday, October 4.
