Lilly regains top spot in Bournemouth

DEFENDING champion Dharminder Singh Lilly returned to the top of the Cuestars Seniors Tour (40+) rankings after clinching his first success of the season in Bournemouth.

The 51-year-old from Fareham beat the 2023/24 rankings winner Paul Davis 2-1 in the final of the third leg at Greenbaize Snooker Club.

Lilly kicked off the deciding frame with a 38 break. Davis hit straight back with a 50 but rattled the last red down the top side cushion. And Lilly coolly cleared to win on the black.

The pair agreed to split the £235 prize pot.

Neil Carroll, who made the last four of the Super Seniors (55+) in Reading last Sunday, and leg-two winner Matt Callow pocketed £40 apiece for reaching the semi-finals.

Callow drops to second place. Carroll moves up to sixth. Davis is third.

Chandlers Ford Snooker Club hosts the fourth leg of eight on Sunday, December 21.
