Nap hand for Lilly

DHARMINDER Singh Lilly may have won all five of the legs he has entered this season on the Cuestars Seniors (40+) Tour but it may not be enough to clinch the rankings title.

The 50-year-old from Fareham beat front-runner Paul Davis 2-1 to clinch the penultimate event at Frames Sports Bar, Coulsdon.

It was the third tournament running that the pair had met in the final.

Lilly, who pocketed £100 in prize money, is now 11 points adrift of the defending champion from Wareham ahead of the season finale in Newbury next month.

If Davis reaches that final, he secures top spot.

The high-quality 25-strong field, aided by the standard and conditions of the tables, returned 25 breaks of 40 or more.

Wayne Townsend (Northolt) took the high-break honours with a 107 in his 2-1 quarter-final victory over Anthony Cutler (Poole).

Organisers were delighted to see Frames Sports Bar owner Tony Thompson get the cue out and make the last-16 before narrowly losing 2-1 to Neil Carroll (Southampton).
