Spratt’s major boost ahead of Bulgaria trip
THAT’S £150 towards his dream trip to Bulgaria and a crack at turning professional.
Ryan Spratt flies out to Sofia in a fortnight for the World Snooker Federation Junior Championship on the back of a second success on the Cuestars Under-21 Gold Tour.
The 16-year-old from Southampton beat Channel Islander Archie Greier 2-0 in the final of the fifth leg at Salisbury Snooker Club.
Spratt was in Widnes the previous day competing on the English Junior Tour, the national under-21 circuit.
“I lost quite badly on the junior tour,” he said. “I haven’t been playing well recently – losing confidence.
“But a big win like this will definitely help. I’m trying to smooth my technique out every day. It’s slowly getting better.
“The final was really tense. I’m trying to get better with my cueing but at the same time I’ve got to focus on winning the actual tournament.”
Spratt, who is sponsored by Southampton-based Rocket Ronnie’s, recorded the day’s highest break of 99.
His first winner’s trophy came at the now defunct Frames Sports Bar, Coulsdon, in October, 2024.
The winner of the WSF event earns a two-year tour card.
Greier, 11, was appearing in his first final in only his second appearance in Gold.
Harry Wyatt remains top of the rankings. John Donovan and Will Forster, who both made the last-four, are second and third respectively. Spratt moves up to fourth place.

Waterlooville Sports Bar hosts the sixth leg of ten on Sunday, January 25. Be aware that Silver and Bronze will be at Chandlers Ford Snooker Club.
