Navraj adds his name to the Cuestars winners list

RENOWNED break-builder Navraj Landa reckons an improved safety game helped him win his first Cuestars tournament.

And it was rather appropriate that the 13-year-old passed the major milestone on the home tables at Chandlers Ford Snooker Club where he works so hard.

Landa defeated his clubmate Christopher Woodward 2-1 in the final of the second leg of the Under-21 Silver Tour.

He dropped just one frame in four group-stage matches and won third-frame deciders in all three knockout matches.

“I’m happy. I feel good,” he said.

“I feel quite confident about my game now. My safety play has got a lot better. I’m starting to not leave people in.”

Landa joins leg-one winner Caden Read (Chandler’s Ford) at the top of the rankings following the event sponsored by Pitman Training. Woodward (Chandler’s Ford) and Lennon Savage (Southampton) are joint third.

Landa’s highest break in competition is 73. He made his Cuestars debut in Coulsdon in October, 2023. This is his second season in Silver.

Londoner Dylan Denieffe reached the last-four for the second time.

Results are now on snookerscores.net.

The Crucible Sports & Social Club in Reading hosts the third leg on Sunday, November 2.
