Scotney claims Plate in Bournemouth
SUTTON-based Alex Scotney has added another piece of silverware to his snooker trophy cabinet.
The ten-year-old won the Plate competition during the tenth and last legs of the Cuestars Under-21 Gold, Silver and Bronze Tours at Greenbaize Snooker Club, Bournemouth.
He defeated Channel Islander Archie Greier 2-0 in the final of the knockout for those players who didn’t qualify for the main knockouts.
Scotney finished in a creditable tenth place in the rankings at the end of his rookie season on the Silver Tour since being promoted from Bronze at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
The event was sponsored by Greenbaize member Shaun Hayman.
Next up is the Cuestars Under-21 Championship at Jimmy White’s Snooker Lounge in Woking on Sunday, May 17, when the top-16 ranked players from each of the three tours will compete for a first prize of £250.
