Cameron Gillon’s very special moment

ONE “very special moment” from the summer of 2013 will forever stay in the memory of Cameron Gillon.

Potting the final black in the first round of one of the Stoke Opens at Gosport’s Stoke Snooker Club handed the 18-year-old (pictured) membership of the half-century club.

He passed this major milestone in any player’s career with a 52 clearance to wrap up a 3-0 victory against his brother Matt.

“It was a very special moment,” Gillon told cuestars.co.uk.

The teenager, who went out in the quarter finals, is now targeting next season’s Cuestars South of England Under-21 Silver Tour title.

“I’ve smashed all my targets I set myself at the start of the year,” he said. “I’ve made seven half-centuries in practice and I only set myself to make one. So I’m aiming to win the title.”
