Jasmine potted like Ronnie

NOT many Cuestars snooker dads have played in a world championship – let alone a women’s world championship.

But Gavin Bolsover, father of Bronze Tour star Jasmine, can now dine out on the story for years to come.
Gavin and Jasmine entered the Mixed Pairs, the opening event of the World Ladies Billiards & Snooker Association’s world championships at Cambridge Snooker Centre.
Sadly, they were beaten 3-1 in the quarter-finals by world number four – and pregnant – Vicky Carter and Rob Shirley.
Moving to the main event, Jasmine may consider herself unlucky after being drawn in a tough round-robin group.
On the first day, the 12-year-old, based at Woking Snooker Centre, lost 2-1 on the pink to former England international Marianne Williams, went down 3-0 to beaten finalist Maria Catalano and “potted like Ronnie” to win the third frame against quarter-finalist Eva Palmius in a 2-1 defeat.
Back in action on Sunday, the world number 17 lost 3-0 to beaten semi-finalist Tatjana Vasiljeva, from Latvia, and 3-0 to Hong Kong star Yu Ching Ching, who reached the last-eight.

Tough school!
Reanne Evans beat Catalano 5-3 in the final to claim her eighth successive title.
