Q School event two

JAKE Keen progressed the furthest of the Cuestars players in the second and final Q School tournament at the South West Snooker Academy, Gloucester.

Keen (pictured left), who won the Gold Tour event in Woking last November, accounted for Hasan Khan 4-1 and Danny Brindle 4-2 from 2-1 down.

However, his dream was shattered in a 4-0 defeat by former Scottish professional Michael Leslie, who beat a 14-year-old Shane Castle 6-2 in the 2012 European Under-21 Championship final in Bulgaria.

Keen was restricted to just 47 points in the four frames.

Elsewhere, Callum Lloyd, the 2011/12 Gold Tour champion, received a walkover against Hossein Vafaei Ayouri before going out 4-2 to John Parkin.

Shane Castle beat Joe Steele 4-1 but went down 4-0 to Scotland’s Eden Sharav.

And Ben Harrison, guest of honour at Cuestars Finals Day in Swindon on Sunday, lost 4-2 from 2-0 up to Chen Zhe.
