Bournemouth Snooker Day

THERE were Easter honours for Kaine Petty and Mark Wells at the Cuestars Snooker Day hosted by Bournemouth’s Greenbaize Snooker Club.

Petty (pictured), currently leading the Section rankings at Salisbury Snooker Club, came top of the morning challenge that was based on the Cuestars Coaching Programme.

Handicaps were in operation in that and the afternoon six-reds tournament in which Wells prevailed, beating Petty 2-1 in the final.

Petty, who is seventh on the Cuestars South of England Under-21 Bronze Tour, and Wells both won their last-four matches from 1-0 down.

The first frame in the final went down to the black, which was stuck on the top cushion. Both players were gently tapping the cue-ball until Wells under-hit it and missed.

But the Greenbaize cueman, who had lost to Petty in the group stages, responded by taking the next two on the blue.
