Browne denied ton by brown

CALLUM Browne (pictured) drew inspiration from Paul Hunter’s photograph to record his highest break of 83 in a frame of speed snooker at Player’s Club, Westbury.

Giving his opponent, Connor Burford, a 42-point handicap start in the 20-minute game, Browne was on course for a first century but rattled the final brown.

World Snooker coach Duncan Ashman said: “Well done, Callum.”

Browne won the Cuestars South of England Under-21 Bronze Tour rankings title in 2010/11 and is currently 11th on the Gold Tour.

Meanwhile, Ashman’s son Liam, a Bronze Tour player, compiled a 28 break against eight-year-old Jack Rushmere.
