Car sales crew cue up for Christmas

STAFF from a used-car dealership on Salisbury Plain organised a mini handicapped tournament for their Christmas do.

Could anyone put the brakes on Richard Swaffield – the joint owner of Cavanfields Autocentre, in Tidworth – who competes in the Cuestars South Wilts Snooker League and on the Cuestars South of England Seniors (40+) Tour?

Or stop Simon Peacock, who made his South Wilts debut this season and works there as a sales executive, from cruising to victory?

Salisbury Snooker Club hosted the festive bash last Saturday afternoon. Following a round-robin, Swaffield stepped up a gear to edge Peacock on the final black in one semi-final and mechanic Nick Rogers swapped clutch control for cue-ball control to motor past joint-owner Danny Cavanaugh in the other.

And Rogers had enough left in his tank to beat Swaffield in the final.
