Chappell passes level 10

BRAD Chappell is the only current Gold, Silver or Bronze player to have completed the whole of the Cuestars Coaching Programme.

The 21-year-old from Poole (pictured) completed level 10 with a score of 22 under the watchful eye of World Snooker community coach Mark Wells at Greenbaize Snooker Club, Bournemouth.

“It was nice to do it before I finish (junior) Cuestars,” said Chappell, who bows out in May.

For the record and for those few who are on level 10, Chappell scored one on the reverse side exercise, six on cannoning the pink from the blue, and five each on the safety shot from tight on the baulk cushion, the long pots and the line-up.

Perhaps we now need level 11!

The earliest record we can find of Chappell winning a Cuestars tournament is an Under-12 Handicap Open at the Ambassador Club, Poole, on February 19, 2006. He would have been aged 11.

He shared the Gold Tour rankings title with Mark Lloyd in 2013/14, won it outright last year and has a six-point lead this season with two legs to play in Swindon and Chandler’s Ford.
