Evan motoring to success

A SNOOKER-mad schoolboy from Coulsdon is on the road to green baize stardom after signing a sponsorship deal with a car dealership.

Evan Plummer (pictured), who only turned 12 in August, increased his highest break from 54 to a whopping 82 in a practice match with his teammate Dave Ford before a league game last month.

And that feat came to the attention of the general manager at Renault Croydon, who has agreed to fund the talented youngster’s coaching by Terry Burke at Frames Sports Bar.

Plummer started playing snooker two years ago at the junior sessions at Frames.

He now turns out for Coulsdon Comrades Club C in the Reigate & District Snooker League and competes on two under-21 circuits, the Cuestars South of England Silver Tour and the Regional Junior Tour South run by the English Association of Snooker & Billiards.

Also a pool devotee, the Woodcote High School pupil is the highest ranked junior in the Surrey youth side.
