Inter-Club Challenge

AN EIGHT-man junior team from Greenbaize Snooker Club were beaten by a strong Chandler’s Ford SC side in the first of what is hoped to become an annual event.

The visitors triumphed 48-28 to claim the magnificent Margaret Anne Stevenson Inter Club Challenge Trophy. World Snooker coach Tim Dunkley, who managed the Chandler’s Ford side, said: “I think our strength in depth proved to be the difference.“This is an excellent way to finish off what was a long and hard season for all the lads from both clubs.“ Well done to Mark Wells for organising the event. It was a nice touch to have framed photographs of the starting line-ups (pictured) on display within hours of the picture being taken.

The event consisted of 24 three-frame singles matches and four doubles frames Bill Stevenson, who sponsored the event in memory of his late wife, presented the trophies.
