Late night drama for nine-year-old

IT WAS way past his bedtime when Stoke Snooker Club starlet Ollie Gibbs announced himself on the local snooker scene.

In fact it was half past midnight when the nine-year-old, receiving a 21-point handicap start, polished off Matt Hallam in the final of a knockout tournament at Fareham Snooker Club.

“I was a bit stressed but I got through it,” said Gibbs.

The youngster is planning to make his debut on the Cuestars South of England Under-21 Bronze Tour this coming season. Correction. The youngster is aiming to win the Cuestars South of England Under-21 Bronze Tour in his debut season.

Observers told cuestars.co.uk that Gibbs could be a major force to be reckoned with in the future – if he stops rushing his shots.
