O’Shay retains February Half-Term Cup

O’SHAY Scott survived a nail-biting final round of matches to retain the February Half-Term Cup at the expense of Joe Hampson.

The nine-year-old Cuestars Bronze Tour player from Eastleigh won eight of his nine matches in the ten-man round robin on the fifth day at Chandlers Ford Snooker Club.

But Hampson, who took a one-point lead into the final day, could only manage six victories.

Seven-year-old Lennon Savage, who equalled his highest break of 15, was third.

Ryan Hughes recorded the week’s highest break of 57 using his old cue after the tip flew off his normal one.

Seven-year-old Fiona Cunningham potted two reds and a pink against Riley Ellis for a personal best eight. And Jake Doherty compiled his highest of seven.

The next school holiday competition with World Snooker coach Tim Dunkley is the Easter Cup.

Final rankings: O’Shay Scott 73 pts, Joe Hampson 68, Lennon Savage 62, Riccardo Drayton 48, Jake Doherty 36, Oliver Sykes 35, Harry Wyatt 35, Fiona Cunningham 28, William Thomson 20, Raz Lilly 20, Riley Ellis 20, Lee Cooper 18, Greg Rolinson 12, Josh Doherty 12, Ryan Hughes 12, Bradley Cowdroy 5, Nico Flower 4, Kieran Rolinson 4.
