Riccardo wins Autumn Half-Term Cup

PLAYERS from four counties contested the sixth running of the Autumn Half-Term Cup at Chandlers Ford Snooker Club.

Cuestars Gold Tour rookie Riccardo Drayton ended the five days of competition 16 points clear of Riley Ellis.

The 13-year-old topped the nine-man round-robin group on the last day to clinch his fourth school holiday competition title.

Caden Read was third, one point ahead of defending champion O’Shay Scott.

Six players passed their respective levels of the Cuestars Academy during the week.

Freddie Gayton and seven-year-old Ellise Scott both recorded new high breaks of 15.

And five-year-old Kean Zhu chalked up a personal best seven.

England international Oliver Sykes, 12, recorded the week’s highest break of 78 on the final afternoon.

Cuestars players from Bournemouth, Clyffe Pypard (near Swindon) and Tunbridge Wells joined the club’s budding stars for the school holiday competition which was run by 17-year-old EASB referee Steven Hughes.

The next event is the Christmas Cup, which will be run by World Snooker coach Tim Dunkley.
