Summer comps at Greenbaize, Bournemouth

GREENBAIZE Snooker Club in Bournemouth has announced details of its two Summer Classic tournaments.

The 21s and under will be on Sunday, August 6, and the open event on August 20.

The juniors will be competing for the magnificent Margaret Anne Stevenson Cup. It’s a round-robin format followed by a knockout and a plate for non-qualifiers.

Entry on the day is £10. The club, which now has working air-conditioning, will open at 9.30am. The draw will be at 10.15am.

All entry fees will be paid out in prize money. Trophies will also be awarded to the winners, runners-up and for the highest break in the main competition. Bradley Cowdroy (pictured) is the defending champion.

The open event a fortnight later will be a best-of-five straight knockout with a plate.

Entry fee of £20 must be received by 10am on the day. The club will open at 9.30am and the draw will be at 10.15am.

As well as trophies, there will be £640 prize money if 32 players enter. Gavin Rogers is the defending champion.
