Watch out Jasmine!

A YOUNG lady from Portsmouth sunk long pots “that would have left Judd Trump’s jaw on the floor” to claim the first monthly tournament win of the season at Copnor Snooker Club.

Could Chloe White (pictured) be the next Jasmine Bolsover, who will be 15 in December and already leads the Cuestars South of England Under-21 Silver Tour rankings?

Organisers are hoping White will make her Bronze Tour debut this season.

Copnor coach Pascal Richard said: “She is certainly ready and good enough.”

The 13-year-old defeated Ashley Smith 2-0 on two black-ball frames in the final to clinch her second section win.

Referee Steve Toms said it was the “best” section final that he had officiated.

Smith led by three points with pink and black left in the opening frame but, according to Richard, White “slotted two consecutive long pots that would have left Judd Trump’s jaw on the floor”.

In the next, the unlucky Smith, needing just the pink which was hanging over the pocket, missed it from 12 feet away while trying to play cushion first to avoid the ‘in-off’.

Richard said: “She’s suddenly stepped up a gear again in recent weeks and has begun turning eights and tens into 16s and 20s, which of course makes a massive difference.”
