William Thomson secures third title

WILLIAM Thomson (pictured) has claimed his third school-holiday title at Chandlers Ford Snooker Club.

The nine-year-old Cuestars Silver Tour player won the five-day February Half-Term Cup.

Ryan Spratt, soon to make his Cuestars debut, finished runner-up in the rankings. Silver Tour player Asten Sahota was third.

The competition opened with a remarkable display by the boys and girls. Ten of them passed their respective Cuestars Academy levels on Monday morning.

Four new high snooker breaks were recorded during the five days, including a 29 from former Bronze Tour player Lennon Savage in his first week back in the game.

O’Shay Scott, who fired in the week’s highest snooker break of 76, was crowned three-ball wizard for the umpteenth time on the second day. The 13-year-old amassed a staggering 585 points in his three 30-minute billiards matches and recorded the highest break of 46.

William was undoubtedly the star of Friday’s cricket, making breaks of 70, 55, 52 and 41 in his two-innings Test Match against Asten.

Ellise Scott chalked up a personal best line-up score of 59.

We do it all again at Easter.
