Norton ends Hunter’s run in Woking

COLIN Norton has ended John Hunter’s run of seven successive victories on the Cuestars Masters (55+) Tour.

The 56-year-old from Gosport beat the reigning champion from Andover 2-0 in the final of the high-quality second leg at Woking Snooker Centre.

Hunter said Norton was a “deserved winner” after a reversal of last month’s final result in Salisbury

Norton contributed ten of the 20 breaks of more than 30 in the SnookerHub-sponsored event.

But debutant Mark Wareham (Wimborne) produced the highest of 64 to take a frame off Norton in the last-four.

Two other newcomers, Dennis Tristram and Mark Thomas from Hertfordshire, joined the midweek tour and made it through to the quarter-finals.

Chandlers Ford Snooker Club hosts the third leg of eight on Wednesday, November 16.
