Castle qualifies for English Amateur Championship last-32

BILLY Castle fired in eight breaks of more than 50 in 11 frames to qualify for the last-32 of the English Amateur Championship.

The 24-year-old from Reading beat Ukrainian Andrii Senyk 4-3 with runs of 55, 57, 69, 80 and 100 at Upton Park Snooker Centre, East London.

And he added efforts of 53, 59 and 81 in a 4-0 victory over Matt Ford (Bracknell).

Castle said: “Hopefully I can go one better then when I got to the final (in 2015) and win it.”

The last-16 south will be hosted by the South West Snooker Academy, Gloucester, in April. The southern and northern winners will then meet in the national final in June, again in Gloucester

Castle leads the Cuestars South of England Championship Tour by eight points from Churchills A teammate Mike Finn after five of the eight legs.
