Eagle-eyed Grainger lands Super-60s

EXCELLENT long potting helped Alan Grainger overcome his 82-year-old opponent in the Cuestars Super Sixties final at Jesters Snooker Hall, Swindon.

The 66-year-old from the Liberal Club, High Wycombe, who also claimed last year\’s Masters (50+) title, prevailed 2-0 against Ron Ellis.
He said: “I was quite amazed to do it again. Ron started off well.”
Indeed, Ellis, from Burgh Heath Comrades & Social Club, Tadworth, Surrey, flew into the lead but ran out of steam as eagle-eyed Grainger sunk long pot after long pot.
Ellis said: “I was 20-odd in front and then I started missed them. I had a good run but he played very well.
“I did well to get to the final. I just enjoy coming down. That’s what it’s all about.”
