Kaine claims second Plate trophy in three events

KAINE Petty collected his second Plate trophy in three events on the Cuestars South of England Under-21 Tours.

The Silver Tour player from Fordingbridge failed to qualify from his round-robin group but triumphed in the secondary competition in the ninth legs at Chandler’s

Ford Snooker Club.

 

Receiving a 14-point handicap start, he beat English Under-14 Championship finalist Olly Gibbs (Gosport) in the final of the event sponsored by Pitman Training Winchester.

Petty, who also won the Plate in Fareham in February, is lying eighth on the Silver Tour with one leg to play on home tables at Salisbury Snooker Club on Sunday, April 30.

Jamie Wilson, 13, compiled a personal best break of 83

Earlier, Havant-based Gold player Jamie Wilson, 13, compiled a personal best break of 83 in his quarter-final victory over James Budd (Fareham), who competes on the EASB Premier Junior Tour.
