Pro signed for Finals Day

THE professional signed for this season’s Cuestars Under-21 Finals Day earned a place in the snooker records book earlier this month.

World number 31 Mark Davis (pictured) will present trophies and play exhibition frames against all our junior champions at Jesters Snooker Club, Swindon, on Sunday, May 14.

Cuestars would like to thank Mickey Mo, from Hopelake Food Group, for arranging this special appearance.

On January 10, at the age of 44, Davis became the oldest player to make an official 147 maximum break in a Championship League match against former world champion Neil Robertson.

Although Davis is in his 26th consecutive season as a professional, a fantastic achievement in its own right, he has never won a ranking event.

However, he does have four world titles to his name. He was crowned Six-Reds World Champion in 2009, 2012 and 2013. And he landed the 2016 World Senior Championship.

Davis, who hails from St Leonards, near Hastings, East Sussex, did win the 2002 Benson & Hedges Championship, a non-ranking event, and his highest ever ranking position was 12th in 2013/14.

Hopelake Food Group is a Portsmouth-based family-orientated business which has been supplying produce to the catering industry, particularly for the oriental market, for more than 25 years.
