Q School place on offer in Joe Perry Under-21 Super Series

JOE Perry has agreed to provide a Q School place for the winner of a brand-new Cuestars under-21 series.

Organiser John Hunter described the world number 30’s involvement as a “game changer”.

And he announced that in addition to the Q School spot for the overall champion, there will be a guaranteed £960 in prize money up for grabs in each of the three tournaments in the new year.

The Joe Perry Under-21 Super Series starts at The Crucible Sports & Social Club, Newbury, on February 11. Then it’s on to Frames Sports Bar, Coulsdon, on March 18. And Waterlooville Sports Bar hosts the final leg on April 22.

Hunter said: “We’re excited to create a really good under-21 series for the best players in the country.

“Without Joe’s help, this wouldn’t have happened. His involvement is a game changer.”

The format will be round-robin followed by a knockout.

Players must be aged under-21 on September 1, 2022. Entry fee for each event is £40 for Cuestars members and £50 for non-members.

New players can join Cuestars at any time for £10 a season at: Membership

Entries for the Joe Perry Under-21 Super Series open on December 1 and will be limited to the first 24 players to pay by bank transfer on or after that date. Entry details will be emailed out shortly.

Because of the massive prize on offer, we expect this to be over-subscribed.

Perry, who was the guest professional at the Cuestars under-21 championships in Swindon last June, was made a Cuestars Ambassador in September.
