Silver champion Mason Wilson fulfils his dream

MASON Wilson has clinched his first Cuestars title.

The 20-year-old from Basingstoke was crowned Under-21 Silver Tour champion following the tenth and final leg at Greenbaize Snooker Club, Bournemouth.

Although Wilson lost 2-1 to the eventual tournament winner Tom McEvoy (Warminster) in the semi-finals, he already had an unassailable lead in the rankings.

It means he fulfils his dream of playing on the Gold Tour in his final season on the junior circuit.

Wilson entered nine of the ten legs during the 2024/25 campaign and won four of the six finals he appeared in. He missed the trip to Coulsdon in January because he was competing in the World Snooker Federation Championship in Morocco.

He made his debut on the Bronze Tour at Waterlooville Sports Bar in September, 2017, and was promoted to Silver at the start of the 2018/19 season.

Wilson is sponsored by 1981 Events, Fineprint Basingstoke, Designs Unique UK and Flat Out Floors.

The event in Bournemouth was sponsored by Greenbaize SC (www.greenbaizesnooker.com) and club member Shaun Hayman.

Next up is the Cuestars Under-21 Gold, Silver and Bronze Championships at Jesters Snooker Club, Swindon, on Sunday, May 25.
