Walker earns first winner’s trophy for Brighton juniors

GUS Walker has raised the bar a little higher for his teammates at the Castle Snooker Club in Brighton.

Walker beat Chris Bennett (Blackfield) in the final of the Plate competition for non-qualifiers during the fifth legs of the Cuestars Under-21 Gold, Silver and Bronze Tours at Waterlooville Sports Bar and Top Spot Snooker Club, Havant.

It was the first Cuestars winner’s trophy earned by a Castle Club junior since they started competing just over three years ago.

Cuestars organisers reckon a first Bronze Tour victory is imminent for WPBSA coach Kai Michael’s ever improving stable of young players.

The event was sponsored by www.snookercrazy.com and Waterlooville Sports Bar (www.facebook.com/Wsportsbar).

Frames Sports Bar, Coulsdon, hosts the sixth legs of ten on Sunday, January 29.
