Dylan Beer claims first Waterlooville Sports Bar title

NEWLY-promoted Cuestars Silver Tour player Dylan Beer (pictured) has claimed his first title at Waterlooville Sports Bar.

The 11-year-old from Fair Oak finished the 20-week Wednesday Junior Snooker League season 6.5 points clear of his brother Tyler. Jack Etherington was third.

Ryan Collins took the Division 2 honours.

The 12th season kicks off today (July 13). Experienced players and complete beginners catered for. Age range is six to 19.

As well as playing competitive matches over a 20-week period, the boys and girls are taught the rules and the etiquette – and receive coaching.

Beginners work with WPBSA coach Tim Dunkley until they are at a standard to play proper frames.

The cost is £4.50 a week for club members and an extra 50p for non-members.

No pre-registration required. The format we use does not depend on all players turning up every week and new players can join at any time. The boys and girls compete in round-robin groups which are determined by their league positions, ie, the top players compete against each other and the beginners compete against each other.

Trophies are presented at the end of the 20-week season. To be eligible for a trophy, players must have competed in at least 15 weeks of the league.

We also run a junior snooker league on Mondays from 4.30-6.30pm and a junior pool league on Thursdays from 4.30pm-6.30pm.
