A* for Beebe

LUKE Beebe crowned a “really competitive” season with a second Eastleigh & District Under-13 Premier title.

The 11-year-old from Eastleigh (pictured) held off the challenge of Hampshire rivals Mickey Joyce and Jamie Wilson.

“It’s been fun and really competitive,” he said. “I thought I had a good chance of winning it and I just gave it my best.”

Reflecting on the 18 months since he joined the league, the Crestwood College student added: “It’s been a good experience. I’ve been watching very good people playing and I’ve got some tips from them.”

Next season, Cuestars Bronze Tour player Beebe will target the national under-14 championship and the EASB Regional Junior Tour.

A measure of the standard at the top of the Under-13 League is that Beebe, Joyce, ten, and Wilson, nine, have all made breaks in competition of more than 30.
