Bradley Cowdroy joins ton-up club

BRADLEY Cowdroy’s eight-year journey from beginner to century break maker started and finished on the same table.

The Bournemouth teenage made a 102 in a practice match yesterday against Nat Kidner at Greenbaize Snooker Club.

Remarkably, the first black he potted was the last shot of the break.

And it happened on the same Table 5 on which he kicked off his illustrious career at the age of seven.

“I’m obviously over the moon to finally get my first ton,” said Cowdroy. “But also, prior to today, a lot of my friends had already made centuries. So it’s a monkey off my back.”

After taking 12 reds and colours, the 15-year-old Cuestars Gold Tour player admitted the final three reds “consisted of an outrageous fluke in between two doubles”.

He doubled the final red, which had tied up the black since the break-off shot, for 95 and then took his first black off the frame to pass the historic milestone.
