JOHN Hunter made it two wins out of two on the Cuestars Masters Tour after “finally” beating Colin Norton.
The rankings leader from Andover extended his advantage in the second leg of the Snooker Hub-sponsored midweek series for players aged over 55.
He pocketed £70 in prize money following a 2-1 victory from 1-0 down over Norton in the final at Chandler’s Ford Snooker Club.
It was the first time Hunter had beaten his title rival in the knockout stage of a Masters event since he defeated debutant Norton in the final in Salisbury in September last year
Hunter said: “I managed to finally get a win over Colin!
“Thankfully the changes I’ve made to my practice are working. I’m looking to score more from my chances.”
The 57-year-old lost the first frame but put together a break of 53 in the next to take some momentum into the decider, which he won comfortably.
Leg-one runner-up Phil Butler (Bournemouth) is in second place. Steve Allen (Southampton) and Norton are three points further back in joint third.
Frames Sports Bar, Coulsdon, hosts the third leg of nine on Wednesday, November 15.
