First Cuestars trophy for Rayan
A FIRST Cuestars trophy is always a magic moment in any young player’s career.
Rayan El Qmache collected his for winning the Plate competition during the second legs of the Under-21 Gold, Silver and Bronze Tours at Frames Sports Bar, Coulsdon.
The ten-year-old – who is based at the Hurricane Room, Kings Cross – beat Silver Tour player Caden Read (Chandler’s Ford) in the final.
And that was after making a 25 break in his last-four victory over Gold player William Thomson (Chandler’s Ford).
Rayan made his Cuestars debut just over a year ago.
The Plate competition is for those who don’t qualify for the main knockouts. Bronze players receive a 14-point handicap start from Silver players and 28 from Gold players.
There were 62 entries across the three events, the biggest field in the 14-year history of the competition.
Chandlers Ford Snooker Club hosts the third leg of ten on Sunday, November 5.
