Consolation for much-travelled Riley

RILEY Ellis ended his long weekend of snooker with a trophy.

The 17-year-old from Clyffe Pypard, North Wilts, won the Plate competition during the sixth legs of the Cuestars Under-21 Gold, Silver and Bronze Tours at Greenbaize Snooker Club, Bournemouth.

He beat Owen Jenkins (Havant) 2-1 in the final.

Earlier, Ryan Spratt (Botley) increased his personal best break to 26 against Harry Wyatt (Ferndown).

The previous day, Ellis was in Northampton for the play-off for next season’s national under-21 tour but missed out on qualifying for the second day on frames difference.
