Girls rankings list launched

CUESTARS has launched a girls rankings list to run in parallel to the Under-21 Gold, Silver and Bronze Tours.

Ellise Scott (Eastleigh) beat Tallulah Michael (Brighton) in the first match that took place during the seventh legs at Woking Snooker Centre last Sunday.

The plan is that all the girls at a particular event will compete in a round-robin group against each other but still compete on their own tours.

The top-ranked player at the end of the season from these girl-only groups will receive a trophy and get a frame of snooker with the guest professional at the presentation day in Swindon on May 19.

The addition of Mia Scotney (Sutton) this season means we have three girls on the junior tours. In recent years, we have seen Chloe White (Havant), Jasmine Bolsover (Woking) and Katie Griffin (Swindon) competing in these events (there may be others that I can’t remember).

Cuestars has always encouraged all juniors to compete in EPSB tournaments and championships. The girls are also encouraged to enter World Women’s Snooker (WWS) events (www.womenssnooker.com). It should be noted that the WWS Tour is now an official qualifying route to the World Snooker Tour, ie, the professional circuit.
