YouTuber Cowdroy stars in Waterlooville

PART-time YouTuber and fledgling podcaster Bradley Cowdroy proved he can also perform on the other side of the lens by winning the final leg of the Cuestars Championship Tour.

The 22-year-old from Bournemouth pocketed £150 in prize money after beating Mark Lloyd 3-1 in a high-scoring final of the event sponsored by snookerz.co.uk at Waterlooville Sports Bar.

Cowdroy recorded the day’s highest break of 84 in his last-16 victory over Will Forster (Wickham).

Donnie Gola defeated fellow Londoner Lee Clayden 2-1 in the Plate final.

Former professional Billy Castle is confirmed as the rankings champion. The 31-year-old from Reading will put his £600 reward towards the £800 cost of entering Q School later this month.

Castle won the Championship Tour in 2016/17 and then enjoyed four years on the World Snooker Tour.

Lloyd (Gosport) claimed the runner-up spot. Wayne Townsend (Northolt) is third.

All four semi-finalists from the ninth leg – Cowdroy, Lloyd, Castle and Oliver Sykes (Chandler’s Ford) – are heading to the Morningside Arena, Leicester, hoping to earn two-year tour cards at Q School which kicks off on May 20.

Cowdroy’s YouTube channel is ‘Bradley Cowdroy Snooker’.
