Shootout fever hits Bournemouth Greenbaize

DAVID O’Callaghan (pictured) warmed up for Sunday’s trip to Fareham with victory in a five-minute snooker shootout at Greenbaize, Bournemouth.

O’Callaghan, who is joint third in the Cuestars South of England Under-21 Bronze Tour rankings and won the first leg of the season in Salisbury, said the shortened version of the TV shootout was a “hard competition”.

The teenager is on a hot run of form as the previous week, on his 16th birthday, he won £95 in the club’s Saturday night competition.

“I’m very happy with myself,” he said.

Also during the Saturday session, Stewart Ball led the way with four colour clearances.

Section organiser Mark Wells said: “The lads are improving massively and I’m proud to work with them.”
