Another trophy for William Thomson

NINE-year-old William Thomson (Eastleigh) beat newly-qualified WPBSA coach Riley Ellis (north Wilts) in the Plate final during the first legs of the Cuestars Under-21 Gold, Silver and Bronze Tours at Waterlooville Sports Bar.

Both players had missed out on qualifying from their respective Silver groups.

The trophies were presented by tournament sponsor Marc Lockley, who runs www.snookercrazy.com – a cues and snooker accessories website based in Waterlooville.

Chandlers Ford Snooker Club hosts the second leg of six on Sunday, August 15.

PLATE RESULTS (ONE-FRAME MATCHES)

QUARTER-FINALS: Riley Ellis (Chandlers Ford SC) beat Louie Ayling (Castle SC, Brighton); O’Shay Scott (Chandlers Ford SC) beat Casey Turner (Castle SC, Brighton), Ryan Kneller (Waterlooville Sports Bar) beat Arthur McCahill (Castle SC, Brighton), William Thomson (Chandlers Ford SC) bye.

SEMI-FINALS: Ellis beat Scott, Thomson beat Kneller.

FINAL: Thomson beat Ellis.
