Hurley claims first Silver winner’s trophy

WILLIAM Hurley wrapped up his first success on the Cuestars Under-21 Silver Tour with a brilliant 45 break.

The 13-year-old from Rayleigh dropped only one frame out of 13 in the fifth leg at Jesters Snooker Club, Swindon.

And he defeated leg-two winner Dylan Beer (Eastleigh) 2-0 in the final.

Tournament director John Hunter said: “William got stronger and stronger as the day went on.”

Hurley moved up to second place in the rankings behind Mason Wilson (Basingstoke), who was knocked out 2-0 in the last-eight by Beer.

Tyler Beer, appearing in his first semi-final, lost 2-0 to his older brother. In the second semi, there was a 2-0 victory for Hurley over Donnie Gola (Islington) who won the previous leg in Woking.

The event was sponsored by Don Rogers Sports (www.donrogerssports.co.uk) and Jesters Snooker Club (www.jesterssnooker.co.uk).

Frames Sports Bar, Coulsdon, hosts the sixth leg of ten on Sunday, January 28.
