‘On and off’ William reigns supreme in Bournemouth
WILLIAM Thomson picked up a cool £150 in prize money following an “on and off” day in Bournemouth.
The 13-year-old from Chandler’s Ford collected his third winner’s trophy on the Cuestars Under-21 Gold Tour at Greenbaize Snooker Club.
He beat rankings champion John Donovan 2-0 in the final of the tenth and last leg.
Reflected on his performance during the day, Thomson said: “Not bad, a bit on and off. I played well in some games. But I didn’t play well in others.”
Tom McEvoy made his first competitive century. The 16-year-old from Warminster put together a 104 in the opening frame of his 2-1 group-stage victory over Tyler Beer.
The previous day, Thomson, the Club Champion at Chandlers Ford Snooker Club, lost 3-1 to O’Shay Scott in the last-eight of the third leg of the Cuestars Joe Perry Under-21 Super Series at The Crucible Sports & Social Club, Newbury.

The event was sponsored by Greenbaize member Shaun Hayman.
Next up is the Cuestars Under-21 Championship at Jimmy White’s Snooker Lounge in Woking on Sunday, May 17, when the top-16 ranked players from each of the three tours will compete for a first prize of £250.
